Chrono Conundrum — Session Index¶
A session-arc index of the played campaign (Sessions 0–51), for navigation. Full detail lives in Sources/Extracted/Gods and Dragons Wiki Building/Chrono Conundrum Notes.md, which includes a narrative recap and a "TLDR" summary for nearly every session. This page groups sessions into rough story arcs rather than repeating that detail — see the individual character and location pages for entity-specific history.
The played log ends mid-Session 51, on a cliffhanger (the party's arrest in Enhasa). What was meant to happen next is covered in Chrono_Conundrum_Ending_Outline.docx.md — see The Ending Outline — which was never played at the table.
Party¶
Laethan, Daphne, Onyx, Belgarian, Arthur, joined later by Marle (Session 2), Lucca (Session 8), and Trout (Session 26).
Arc: The Millennium Fair (Sessions 0–2)¶
The party meets at a festival — a pie-eating contest, a rigged strength challenge, a drinking-contest sabotage, and a fight against a beer-barrel robot — before a stage magician's teleporter trick reveals Marle as the missing princess and flings the party back roughly 150 years into Truce's past.
Arc: Truce, the past — goblins and a royal poisoning (Sessions 3–10)¶
The party fights goblins, gets imprisoned and escapes a border town, is granted an audience with the Queen (revealed as a young Marle-lookalike, later understood as an ancestor), saves the poisoned King with Daphne's divine intervention, and is arrested again at the fair on their return — landing them in Enhasa-era prison and torture (see Laethan Windsor for his torture in this arc) before a violent escape across a collapsing bridge and a portal jump into unknown territory.
Arc: The zombie future — 258 AL (Sessions 11–15)¶
The party emerges in a ruined, undead-infested future version of Truce, discovers Daphne's divine magic doesn't function there, and is taken in by a walled cannibal-cultist village worshipping Lavos before escaping through a ruined city to a robotic arena host named Johnny, who self-destructs mid-duel.
Arc: Battleborn village and the warehouse robots (Sessions 16–20)¶
The party allies (warily) with a fortified settlement, meets an aged William offering knowledge in exchange for supplies, and explores a high-tech bunker guarded by the robot XY and a massive security construct, recovering enchanted gear (a Necklace of Fireballs, a Cap of Water Breathing) and learning of Lavos's rise from a corrupted video journal.
Arc: Ghosts, the End of Time, and Medina (Sessions 21–27)¶
Haunted by personal trauma during a long rest, the party escapes through a portal to the magicless End of Time, meeting Ghast, before choosing a portal to Medina (Monster Isle) — home to goblins, hags, and the swordsmith Melcher — and finally, back at the fair, meeting Trout Brightshield for the first time while fleeing a "wanted dead or alive" bounty.
Arc: Porre, the Inquisitor, and Onyx's family (Sessions 28–34)¶
The party learns Onyx's zombified mother has been enslaved by the tabaxi Ozzy, is forced to kill her, and infiltrates Porre village — encountering Arthur's wife's killer, the drow Inquisitor, serving Magus. A death dragon fight reveals the body of Onyx's missing brother Obsidian, and the party travels to the prehistoric era, meeting the tribal chief Ayla.
Arc: The Jurassic era and the reforging of Masamune (Sessions 35–38)¶
Lucca goes missing and is recovered from lizardfolk excavating dinosaur-filled ruins; Onyx wins the Chief's Stone from Ayla's husband Kino in ritual combat, renaming the village "Battleborn"; Melcher reforges Onyx's brother's broken halberd into the sentient Kellemar/Masamune.
Arc: Magus's castle and the Daphne/Lavos revelation (Sessions 39–40)¶
Infiltrating Magus's castle, the party is drawn into a confrontation in the throne room: Magus reveals she is trying to kill Lavos, not serve him, and that Laethan's friends — Daphne specifically — must die to draw Lavos out. Daphne and Magus recognize each other as sisters; Daphne is revealed as Lavos's daughter. The fight ends with Magus pulled through a portal, and the party waking in Ayla's (now snow-bound, altered) village.
Arc: The volcano and Azalea (Sessions 41–45)¶
The party confronts Lavos indirectly via Sending, fights their way through a volcano guarded by lava wyrms, and is captured by the black dragon Azalea/Azazael. Daphne accepts Lavos's power to help defeat her, sacrificing an army of lizardfolk in the process, and has to be forcibly polymorphed into a frog by Belgarian to stop her rampage. Arthur is killed, bitten in half by Azalea. A mysterious future-tech orb is discovered watching the battle.
Arc: Golems, Kaelion, and the road to Enhasa (Sessions 46–51)¶
Magic-suppressing constructs and their riders — one of whom Laethan and Onyx recognize with horror as Kaelion, Laethan's brother — hunt the party. Reaching the floating city of Enhasa, the party discovers a massive bounty on Laethan and an even larger one on Daphne (wanted alive by Queen Zeal), infiltrates the city in disguise, and is ultimately cornered and arrested. The played log ends here, mid-Session 51, with Daphne head-bagged and dragged toward the prison.
