House Windsor

The family at the center of Gods and Dragons: Daphne Windsor (a goddess by birth-name-and-later-divinity), her husband Laethan Windsor (born Sableflame), and their triplet children Demyra, Wolfgang, and Cassian.

Overview

"Windsor" is Daphne's birth family name — her mother is named Jane Windsor in the Ending Outline, meaning the name predates her marriage to Laethan rather than being newly created for it. Laethan took the Windsor name upon marrying her, explicitly setting down the Sableflame name rather than fighting to reclaim it (per the Ending Outline: "The Headmaster told him he would always carry the family's shame. He doesn't fight for the Sableflame name. He sets it down and picks up hers").

Members

  • Daphne Windsor — matriarch; Goddess of Light (Planned Canon)
  • Laethan Windsor (né Sableflame) — patriarch; former party rogue-wizard, later immortal by Daphne's gift
  • Demyra Windsor — firstborn triplet, bard
  • Wolfgang Windsor — second triplet, Blood Hunter and Lycan ("the Red Wolf")
  • Cassian Windsor — third triplet, Paladin of Daphne
  • Jane Windsor — Daphne's mother (named once, in the Ending Outline; no further detail available)

Seat and holdings

The Windsor Estate, on the Elongated Isle — see Wiki/Locations/The Windsor Estate.md — built by Daphne after her resurrection, off the western coast of Lumis, near the city of Celestine (GM Clarification, chat, 2026-08-22).

History

House Windsor as a family unit only comes into being via the Ending Outline's marriage and the births that follow; before that point, Daphne is simply a party member with (per the sources reviewed) no established family name of her own beyond the "Jane Windsor" reference. All of the family's shared history — the triplets' childhood, the animal companions, Wolfgang's abduction and recovery — is documented on the individual members' pages and in Wolfgang Windsor Backstory.docx.

Relationships

  • House Sableflame — Laethan's birth family; a source of ongoing antagonism (Kaelion Sableflame is Gods and Dragons' confirmed principal villain).
