Source Inventory

Every file in the uploaded source archive, what it is, and how it's treated. This is the authoritative list of what this wiki is built from — if a wiki page cites a source, that source should be listed here.

The archive itself

  • Original file: Gods_and_Dragons_Wiki_Building.zip
  • Preserved unchanged at: Sources/Original Archive/Gods_and_Dragons_Wiki_Building.zip
  • SHA-256: ec6702ab1e0bb5f1715d8c364bfa6d5279581f4d50e43ca356627f36f27926ef
  • Extracted to: Sources/Extracted/Gods and Dragons Wiki Building/
  • The zip also contained a top-level __MACOSX/ folder (macOS AppleDouble resource-fork files, one per real file, all with ._ prefixes) and a .DS_Store file. These carry no content — they are macOS Finder/archiving artifacts — and were discarded during extraction rather than preserved. This is the one deliberate deviation from "preserve everything"; everything with actual content was kept.

File-by-file inventory

File Type What it is Canon status Notes
Chrono Conundrum Notes.md Markdown, ~1,891 lines Session-by-session log of the original campaign, "Chrono Conundrum," Session 0 through Session 51 (mid-Session 51, ends on a cliffhanger — the party's arrest in Enhasa). Most sessions include a narrative recap plus a "TLDR" summary. Played Canon The primary record of what actually happened at the table. Ends exactly where Chrono_Conundrum_Ending_Outline.docx.md picks up.
Chrono_Conundrum_Ending_Outline.docx.md Markdown (exported from docx), ~621 lines "CHRONO CONUNDRUM — Ending Outline & Timeline — Final Draft." A GM-authored outline of the campaign's intended ending (Acts 1–5, Chapters 1–13+), covering the Enhasa arrest, Daphne's sacrifice and return, the Windsor wedding, and the founding of the Windsor dynasty. Includes a "Confirmed Details" table and Daphne's divine domain writeup. Planned Canon Never played — the campaign stopped mid-Session 51. This is the single most important bridge document between the two campaigns; it's where Gods and Dragons' premise (Windsor triplets, Kaelion as villain, Daphne's godhood) comes from.
Wolfgang Windsor Backstory.docx Word doc, ~676 lines of text Prose backstory covering the Windsor triplets' childhood, Wolfgang's abduction and torture by House Sableflame (Aeren and Kaelion), his transformation into a werewolf, his training under Trout Brightshield at Castle Orion, and his eventual return home. Backstory Canon Written for Gods and Dragons; assumes the Ending Outline happened (Daphne is a goddess, Laethan is a Windsor, the triplets exist). Introduces Bruthys Countrat, Sera, Kali, Daemon Karass, Hephaestus, and other Castle Orion figures.
Laethan.md Markdown Laethan Sableflame's pre-campaign character sheet: physical description, personality, motivations, and a condensed backstory (Academy admission, expulsion, exile). Backstory Canon Near-duplicate of Laethan Stories/Laethan Sableflame.docx (see below) — likely an earlier or condensed export of the same sheet. Minor discrepancy: does not name Felix Blackwood as the saboteur; see Contradictions and Open Questions.
Daphne.md Markdown, empty (0 bytes) No content. — No standalone Daphne character sheet exists in this archive. Everything known about Daphne comes from the session notes, the Ending Outline, and the Wolfgang backstory. Flagged in the entity registry; do not infer a missing backstory to fill this gap.
Trout Brightshield.md / Trout Brightshield.docx Markdown + Word doc, near-identical content Origin story of Trout Brightshield: sold as an infant to Quinon Hexshade, raised at Castle Shain, survives the Hunter's Bane, present when Castle Shain falls to the Dread Gloom. Backstory Canon The .md and .docx contain the same narrative (the .docx version omits final punctuation flourishes and is a touch shorter at the end). Kept as separate files per "preserve as found."
Older Trout Stories.md Markdown A vignette of "Grandmaster Trout Brightshield" at Castle Orion, confronted by Farrow (a wandering Blood Hunter of the "Order of the Chimera") who wants help investigating the ruins of "Castle Umbra," home of the vanished Order of the Abyss. Set well after the main campaign — references the "Red Wolf" and Trout's inner circle (Vosh, Ember, Solas, Hephaestus, Samson, Gamble, Titus, Daemon). Bridge Material Set after the Ending Outline: assumes Castle Orion and the Order of the Stars already exist and that Trout is training Wolfgang ("Red Wolf"). Overlaps in character names with Wolfgang Windsor Backstory.docx (Hephaestus, Vosh, Daemon, Titus), confirming the same continuity. Ends mid-scene (unresolved — see Unresolved Threads).
Trout stories.docx Word doc Trout's full origin story from infancy (age 3) through age 19, ending the moment he wanders into the Millennium Fair — i.e., immediately before he's introduced in the main campaign (Session 26). Overlaps heavily with Trout Brightshield.md/docx but continues further (the manticore hunt, the chimera hunt, the bailiff fight, the baron and his tiefling daughter). Backstory Canon The most complete single Trout origin document.
Quinon backstory.docx Word doc Quinon Hexshade's origin: born in the Devil Quarter, recruited by Ethelvin of the Order of the Succubus, trained at Castle Shain under the tyrant Grandmaster Achulon, leads the "War of the Snake" rebellion, later trains Trout and dies protecting him from the Dread Gloom. Backstory Canon Consistent with and expands on Trout's own backstory documents.
Laethan Stories/Laethan Sableflame.docx Word doc, dated 2025-06-22 (earliest-dated file in the archive) Full pre-campaign character sheet for Laethan: description, personality, backstory, and an extensive first-person Q&A ("Are you a morning person...", etc.). Backstory Canon Names Felix Blackwood as a jealous human classmate — see Laethan Stories/5. The Founding Spectacle.docx for the dramatized version of the same event, and note the discrepancy with Laethan.md in Contradictions and Open Questions.
Laethan Stories/1. The Red In The Room.docx Word doc, dated 2025-10-04 Vignette: Laethan's first days at the Arcane Academy — snubbed at the admission ceremony, "IMP" carved into his dorm door. Backstory Canon One of ten numbered vignettes fleshing out Laethan's Academy years and exile, all dated Oct 2025 (i.e., written after the June 2025 character sheet).
Laethan Stories/2. Notes In The Shadows.docx Word doc Vignette: cryptic notes planted in library books lead Laethan to trigger a forbidden soul-binding summoning array; he's blamed, banned from the library for a month, and placed under "academic review." Who planted the notes is never revealed. Backstory Canon See Unresolved Threads — the note-planter's identity is an open mystery.
Laethan Stories/3. The Lesson in Bruises.docx Word doc Vignette: Felix Blackwood and friends physically bully and beat Laethan in a courtyard while a professor watches and walks away. Backstory Canon Establishes Felix as a physical bully, not just the later Founders' Day saboteur.
Laethan Stories/4. A Spark of Pride.docx Word doc Vignette: Laethan produces an unusually beautiful white-gold flame in an elemental conjuration class, earning grudging respect; his sister Amara writes back, "Fire can destroy... but it can also warm the coldest rooms." Backstory Canon This line is almost certainly the one the Ending Outline has Amara repeat at the moment Laethan's infernal wings manifest ("The wings are the answer") — see Campaigns/Chrono Conundrum/The Ending Outline.md.
Laethan Stories/5. The Founding Spectacle.docx Word doc Vignette: the Founders' Day illusion-magic incident. Names Felix Blackwood as the classmate who sabotaged the ward, framing Laethan; the Headmaster expels him on the spot ("You will always burn everything you touch"). Backstory Canon Dramatizes the expulsion referenced in Laethan.md/Laethan Sableflame.docx.
Laethan Stories/6. The Disowning.docx Word doc Vignette: Laethan returns home after expulsion; his father Aeren and mother Sylria disown him, his brother Kaelion strikes him, and his sister Amara secretly gives him a letter of introduction as he leaves. Backstory Canon
Laethan Stories/7. Smoke and Silver.docx Word doc Vignette: Laethan's first job for Drift, a tiefling fixer in Athkatla who "owed Amara a favor" — recovering stolen reagents from a rival alchemist using illusion-magic scare tactics rather than violence. Backstory Canon Introduces Drift, added to the Entity Registry.
Laethan Stories/8. Wrong Place.docx Word doc Vignette: Laethan is wrongly arrested for a theft he didn't commit, purely because of his appearance, and picks his own cell's lock to escape. Backstory Canon Dramatizes the "wrong place, wrong time" pattern from his character-sheet Q&A.
Laethan Stories/9. The Job That Stuck.docx Word doc Vignette: Drift hires Laethan to steal incriminating letters (not gold) from a discriminatory magistrate, Tarren Vale, exposing him; the city starts calling Laethan "the Infernal Thief of Justice." Backstory Canon Origin of the nickname referenced in 10. Keep The Fire Alive.docx.
Laethan Stories/10. Keep The Fire Alive.docx Word doc Vignette: Laethan, now an independent thief in Athkatla working for Drift, receives an encouraging letter from his sister Amara ("The Infernal Thief of Justice... Keep the fire alive.") and burns it to protect her. Backstory Canon Latest-dated vignette in the sequence; sets up Laethan's life immediately before the main campaign begins.

Files requiring further handling

  • Daphne.md (empty). No action taken to fill this — flagged so a human contributor knows to supply a Daphne backstory document if one exists outside this archive, or so future agents know not to assume one was lost/omitted from processing.
  • Embedded images. Several Chrono Conundrum Notes.md entries reference embedded images (![][image1], etc.) whose base64 data lives at the very end of that file (the last handful of lines are enormous — tens of thousands of characters each). These were left in place untouched; they are not reproduced or described in any wiki page since their visual content wasn't reviewed.

All ten Laethan Stories vignettes have now been read and reflected in Wiki/Characters/Laethan Windsor.md — see Meta/Processing Ledger.md for when each was processed.

Additional materials (received after the original archive)

File Type What it is Canon status Notes
Additional Materials/Cassian_Windsor_Backstory.md Markdown Full prose backstory for Cassian Windsor: childhood, Daphne's own account of her sacrifice and resurrection, Bruthys's death, Cassian's search for the abducted Wolfgang (including a near-rescue and the death of Kaelion's son Corus Sableflame), his Oath of the Ancients, his training at the Temple of Daphne under High Cleric Valerica and archdruid Sylvanan, his relationships with Arabella and Rhea, and the pregnancy that leaves him at a crossroads at the story's end. Backstory Canon Received directly from the user (not part of the original ZIP); saved under Sources/Extracted/Additional Materials/ per CLAUDE.md §2. See Meta/Processing Ledger.md.
Additional Materials/Blood_Hunter_Lore.md Markdown World-lore reference document: the origin of Blood Hunters and Hemocraft (Hunter's Bane, Blood Curses, Crimson Rite), and a full rundown of every Blood Hunter order — the Abyss, Unicorn, Diamondback, Dragon, Tiger, Succubus, Chimera, and Wraith — their strongholds, sigils, philosophies, succession methods, and eventual fates, plus "the Schism" that split them and the founding of the Order of the Stars. Backstory Canon (setting reference, not tied to a specific character) Corrects/supersedes Farrow's secondhand, joking account of the other orders' fates in Older Trout Stories.md on several points — see Contradictions and Open Questions.
Additional Materials/The_Last_Diamondback_or_Bound_by_Blood.md Markdown Prose story: roughly ten years after the Chrono Conundrum campaign, Trout Brightshield is summoned by Elysia Moreau (now court mage to Duke Athtar of Moonveil) to kill the Dread Gloom, now revealed as a dracolich occupying a vassal's seized castle. Trout reunites with his old classmate Rodrick, who dies in the fight; the Dread Gloom is destroyed for good by shattering its phylactery (hidden inside an amnesiac warforged, whom Trout and Elysia name Hephaestus). Trout is revealed to be the son of gnome bee farmers, Dolores and Angus Dandelion, who sold him as an infant to Quinon. Trout and Elysia become a couple, and Trout uses his reward to rebuild the ruined castle into Castle Orion. Backstory Canon The authoritative account of Castle Orion's true origin — see Contradictions and Open Questions for how this relates to Wolfgang Windsor Backstory.docx's claim that Lucca Dragonaire designed it (corrected per direct GM clarification) and built Hephaestus (a live contradiction between the two documents, not resolved by the GM).
Additional Materials/The_Swordmaster.md Markdown Prose story: at the Temple of Daphne, Cassian Windsor is introduced by High Cleric Valerica to Udisam, an earth genasi battlemaster and city constable who trains him in swordplay. Udisam is revealed to be running a violent extortion racket in the city's poorer district; when Cassian confronts him over it, the two fight, and Cassian — overtaken by "something raw and primeval... foul and wicked. Evil and timeless" — compels Udisam to beg before killing him. Backstory Canon The authoritative source for who taught Cassian swordplay (Udisam, not Valerica — per direct GM clarification correcting the wiki's earlier paraphrase of Cassian_Windsor_Backstory.md).

Direct GM/User Clarifications

Statements made directly in conversation by the user (acting as GM), correcting or adding to canon rather than appearing in any document. Logged here with the date, per CLAUDE.md §3 ("GM Clarification"). Cite these on affected pages as "GM clarification, chat, [date]" — never attribute them to a document that doesn't actually contain them.

Date Clarification Pages updated
2026-08-22 The Windsor Estate is on the western coast of Lumis, near the city of Celestine. Wolfgang Windsor Backstory.docx describes the estate as being "directly on the Faerûnian coast" — per this clarification, that phrasing is superseded; the setting's actual regional geography is Lumis/Celestine, not Faerûn. Wiki/Locations/The Windsor Estate.md; Meta/Entity Registry.md (new stub entries for Lumis and Celestine)
2026-08-23 Castle Orion sits outside the city of Moonveil — corroborated in detail by The_Last_Diamondback_or_Bound_by_Blood.md, which places the ruined castle "two or three days' ride" from Moonveil in the High Forest mountains. Wiki/Locations/Castle Orion.md
2026-08-23 The Temple of Daphne is located in Celestine and has sunflower gardens. Wiki/Locations/Temple of Daphne.md
2026-08-23 Castle Orion was not designed by Lucca Dragonaire. It was a vassal lord's castle, seized and lived in as a lair by the Dread Gloom (which killed the previous owners), then given to Trout Brightshield as his reward for killing the dragon. Trout left it in ruins for some time before beginning repairs — first for Wolfgang's arrival, then more broadly as the Order of the Stars began. This corrects Wolfgang Windsor Backstory.docx's claim that Lucca engineered the castle, and is independently corroborated in detail by The_Last_Diamondback_or_Bound_by_Blood.md. Wiki/Locations/Castle Orion.md; Wiki/Factions and Organizations/Order of the Stars.md; Wiki/Characters/Trout Brightshield.md
2026-08-23 Cassian Windsor's swordplay was not taught by High Cleric Valerica. Per The_Swordmaster.md, Valerica only introduced him to his actual teacher, Udisam, an earth genasi battlemaster. This corrects the wiki's earlier paraphrase of Cassian_Windsor_Backstory.md, which had (incorrectly) attributed swordplay training to Valerica herself. Wiki/Characters/Cassian Windsor.md; Wiki/Locations/Temple of Daphne.md

Derived text conversions

All .docx files were converted to plain text via python-docx and saved under Sources/Derived Text/, mirroring the original folder structure with .txt extensions. These are reading/searching conveniences only — see CLAUDE.md §2 for the rule that the .docx originals remain the source of record. Additional Materials/Cassian_Windsor_Backstory.md arrived as plain Markdown and needed no conversion.
