Windsor Family Chronology

A relative chronology of House Windsor, from Laethan and Daphne's courtship through the present day of Gods and Dragons. Cross-reference World Timeline for how this fits the broader setting, and see individual character pages for full detail.

Before the marriage

  • Laethan Sableflame and Daphne meet and adventure together as part of the Chrono Conundrum party. (Played Canon)
  • Daphne sacrifices herself to banish Lavos; is resurrected roughly a year later; marries Laethan, who takes her name. (Planned Canon — the Ending Outline)

Early marriage

  • The Windsor Estate is built on the Elongated Isle. (Planned Canon / Bridge Material)
  • The Windsor triplets — Demyra, Wolfgang, and Cassian — are born. (Planned Canon)

Childhood (triplets aged roughly 0–16)

  • Each triplet receives an extraordinary pet from Daphne: Kitty (jaguar) for Wolfgang at 7, Noodle (python) for Demyra at 8, Achilles (Irish Elk) for Cassian at 9.
  • Bruthys Countrat becomes a near-permanent fixture at the Windsor table, effectively a fourth sibling.
  • Aeren Sableflame begins grooming Bruthys, over a period of years, to distrust Daphne's influence over the children — targeting Demyra as the intended "rescue."

Age 16 — the abduction

  • The triplets are lured to a masquerade; Bruthys swaps Demyra's mask for his own at the last moment, redirecting the trap onto Wolfgang.
  • Wolfgang is abducted by Kaelion Sableflame and agents of House Sableflame.
  • Bruthys dies to a hidden ward when Daphne, searching for answers, triggers it.

Age 16–17 — captivity

  • Wolfgang is held and tortured by House Sableflame for over a year: cold iron shackles, documented "research" torture, the loss of his left eye, permanent damage to his left hand, and deliberate infection with lycanthropy.
  • Daphne and Laethan search continuously and without success; Cassian searches independently with Achilles.

Age 17 — rescue

  • Wolfgang's first transformation destroys the Sableflame safehouse; Daphne, aided by a full pantheon (Demeter, Tyr, Lathander, Selûne, Kelemvor), retrieves him.
  • The family spends an unspecified recovery period adjusting to his trauma and the curse; Daphne calls on Trout Brightshield for help.

Age 17–21 — training

  • Wolfgang trains at Castle Orion under Trout Brightshield for roughly four years, forming relationships with fellow students Sera (deceased) and Kali (deceased), and surviving a raid by Daemon Karass that kills six students including Sera.
  • Meanwhile, Demyra attends Bard College (forming a band and a brief polycule with Eleni and Joifra) and Cassian begins temple studies under Daphne's faith.

Age 21 — return and present day

  • Wolfgang returns home. The family adapts its rhythms around his needs (quieter voices, sign language, careful physical contact).
  • The three triplets get matching tattoos from Eleni, magically empowered by Daphne with sibling Sending and Locate Creature.
  • This is roughly where Gods and Dragons' starting state (see Campaigns/Gods and Dragons/Starting State.md) picks up.
